Communications

A lot of the event communications will be by Whatsapp.

If you don't have it, you can get this app for phones here

There will be two main Whatsapp groups. One for the Volunteers running the event, and one for competitors, crew and everyone else.

The competitors group can be joined here. Scan the QR Code to join the group.

Volunteers will be invited by message to join the Race Management Whatsapp group.

Whatsapp has proved very good in the past, and will be used to notify of briefings, event changes, reminders of social events, and more. There is good 4G coverage both ashore and on the water in the racing areas.

It would be a good idea to join the competitors group early. Its up and running now, so join up today!

On the water VHF will be used in addition, with any relevant race communications being broadcast on an advised channel.
