CCC Annual Prizegiving
Saturday 29th November
with guest speaker
Calanach MacDonell Finlayson - 2024 Offshore Double Handed World Champion
After positive feedback on last years format, our Prizegiving will once again be on a Saturday afternoon.
We are delighted to announce our speaker for the event will be one half of the team that won the 2024 Offshore Double Handed World Championship - Calanach MacDonell Finlayson.
'Cal' began his sailing at Montrose Sailing Club in dinghies at the age of 14. While studying for his Masters in Yacht Design at Strathclyde University he began yacht racing with the university team and gained a spot as crew for a local team and CCC boat on the Clyde. In addition to this he volunteered with Ocean Youth Trust Scotland, eventually gaining his Yachtmaster qualification.
In recent years his focus has been on doublehanded offshore racing, representing and winning the Offshore Double Handed World Championship in 2024 with partner Maggie Adamson.
Calanach remains driven to improve and inspire others through sailing and when not offshore he works as a race coach and rigger. We can't wait to hear his fantastic talk
So, what else do you have to do on a wet November afternoon forget the Xmas shopping and come join us!
The event will be held at Kelvinside Academy's Balgray Sports Pavilion, 40 Chesterfield Avenue, Glasgow, G12 0BN.
After the talk we will present our trophies for the year. Then there will be an opportunity to mingle over a drink and a buffet for those who wish to stay on.
2.30pm for drinks on arrival then the Talk at 3pm to be followed by Prizegiving.
Tickets on sale soon.
